Ovulation Induction & Cycle Monitoring
Nordica Fertility Centre offers Ovulation Induction & Cycle Monitoring services for women who have difficulties ovulating. This inability to ovulate is known as Anovulation and most commonly caused by PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a condition that affects a woman’s hormone levels. Women with PCOS produce higher than normal amounts of male hormones. This hormone imbalance causes them to skip menstrual periods and makes it harder for them to get pregnant.
PCOS affects the ovaries and ovulation. The main features of PCOS are:
- Irregular period: Irregular, infrequent or prolonged menstrual many cycles are the most common sign of PCOS.
- Polycystic ovaries: Ovaries might be enlarged and may contain follicles abnormally arranged. As a result, the ovaries might fail to function regularly.
- Excess androgen: When a woman produces high levels of male hormone that may result in physical signs, such as excess facial and body hair.
