WHO MAY REQUIRE DONOR EGG TREATMENT?
- Women who were born with underdeveloped ovaries, which cannot function normally.
- Women with ovaries which have been damaged by radiotherapy (or chemotherapy in the process of cancer treatment).
- Women with previously failed IVF treatments due to poor egg numbers or quality and failure to achieve pregnancy after repeated attempts.
- Women with age consideration, who wish to have IVF treatment- (women over 42 years are very likely to have poor quality eggs).
- Women with high risk of passing genetics disorders to their off-spring.
- Women past the age of menopause.
WHO MAY REQUIRE DONOR SPERM TREATMENT?
- Those who have no sperm at all (Azoospermic), with which to carry out either IVF or ICSI ( intra cytoplasm sperm injection), in whom surgical sperm retrieval has failed.
- Men who also have a high risk of passing of inherited disease to their offspring may opt to use donor sperm.
- Severe Rhesus incompatibility, where the female partner is Rhesus sensitized and the male partner is Rhesus positive.
- When the male partner has an incurable sexual disease such as HIV.
